Anne Plamondon’s dancing is characterized as captivating, fluid, gracious, versatile, and radiant. After dancing with the Nederlands Dans Theater 2 and Gulbenkian Ballet and performing the works of more than 30 choreographers worldwide, she moves back to Quebec and dances with major local choreographers such as Marie Chouinard and Marcos Moreau. With Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot, she partakes in 4 creations, from Lost Action to The You Show. In 2002, Anne joins Victor Quijada to create the RUBBERBANDance group, sharing with him the artistic direction from 2006 to 2015. Within the company, she contributes to more than 10 works for the stage and 3 short films. With the help of director Marie Brassard, Anne creates the solos The Same Eyes as Yours (2012) and Night Mechanics (2017).
In 2018, she launches her own company, Anne Plamondon Productions, aiming to produce her own creations and generate new artistic collaborations.

Anne Plamondon's third work, Seulement toi, is an exhilarating duet celebrating the glory of love.

To create Seulement toi, a distillation of all of her artistic experiences, she probed her memories to uncover the contrasting facets of love. Together with American dancer James Gregg, she uses movement and the body to portray this complex and universal emotion through a virtuosic fusion of classical and contemporary elements. Intoxicating, passionate, platonic or playful, unconditional, carnal, maternal, obsessive or painful, the love Anne Plamondon so graciously dispenses illuminates the stage.

Premiere March 17-21, 2020 @ 5e Salle, Place des Arts, Montreal, a presentation of Danse Danse. Tickets here!

After a long career as a dancer working with renowned Canadian and European choreographers, including an outstanding collaboration with the RUBBERBANDance Group, Anne Plamondon is now making her mark as a choreographer. Night Mechanics is a real turning point in her career, a confirmation of her desire to explore personal intuitions in greater depth. For this new piece she is again working with director Marie Brassard, a collaboration that was initiated with her first choreography, The Same Eyes as Yours, presented in 2012 at Agora de la danse.

The radiant dancer Anne Plamondon embarks on a bold solo, her first, on the theme of mental illness. In collaboration with the actress, writer and director Marie Brassard, she superimposes realities, presenting an almost panoramic vision of the subject matter. She is at times a lost man, his personality torn asunder, roiling with abnormal behaviours, spells of delirium and incoherent demeanour; at other times a foundering woman in a state of collapse for whom the line between insanity and “normality” is an ever-shifting maze. She is also the fleeting memory of a mentally ill person prior to the plunge into madness. With touching fragility she explores these grey zones, these states that haunt us and make us suffer, and the attendant lack of understanding from others. Here the body is too small to contain thoughts that know no bounds. She invites us, body and mind, into a poetic dance theatre performance to take a look at these disturbing mental states with The Same Eyes as Yours.
