Dancing in a box without walls for four hours, Caroline Laurin-Beaucage convenes audiences to bear witness to her creative process as she revisits the works she performed throughout her career. She builds a compelling connection with the spectators, as they experience a dance shaped by the passage of time and the surrounding environment. The artist records voice memos at every show, capturing the unique aspects of each encounter and performance. These recordings are then compiled, remixed and broadcast at headphone stations, building upon the whole of the performer’s experience with the work.
After more than twenty presentations of the work in Quebec, Germany and South Korea, Habiter sa mémoire will soon be adapted to the stage and give birth to a multi-media exhibition. Both will premiere at the end of 2019. Caroline is also preparing more tours of Habiter sa Mémoire in Europe and Canada.
